Breaking News Update: More remains wash ashore on Lake Michigan from Sade Robinson

A citizen discovered a torso and an arm while strolling along the remote, tree-lined shore at 7:37 a.m. Thursday, the sheriff’s office reported.

These chilling findings come after weeks of searching for Robinson, a student at Milwaukee Area Technical College, who vanished following a date with Maxwell Anderson, 33. Robinson failed to show up for work at a local pizza joint, prompting concerns about her well-being.

Authorities have unearthed various body parts scattered throughout the area, all suspected to be Robinson’s, alongside her car, which suffered extensive fire damage, according to a filed criminal complaint.

Anderson faces charges of first-degree intentional homicide, mutilating a corpse, and arson in connection with Robinson’s death. He is slated to appear in court on Monday for a preliminary hearing at the Milwaukee County Courthouse Criminal Justice Facility, according to his legal team.

Anthony Cotton, representing Anderson, asserted his client’s innocence, affirming they will vigorously contest the accusations in court.

The sheriff’s office launched an investigation into Robinson’s demise following the discovery of a severed human leg at Warnimont Park beach in Cudahy, Wisconsin, on April 2. Additional remains believed to be Robinson’s were later uncovered in Milwaukee.

Preemptively responding to the tragic incident, the sheriff’s office had already arranged for a sonar detection boat to comb Lake Michigan for Robinson’s remains and any additional evidence.

“Our heartfelt condolences and unwavering support go out to Robinson’s family and loved ones during this time of grieving,” stated the sheriff’s office.

Steven Anderson, the suspect’s father, conveyed his condolences to Robinson’s family through a statement released by his legal representatives, requesting privacy to process the unfolding tragedy.

A Harrowing Sequence of Events
According to the criminal complaint, Robinson had arranged to meet Anderson for a first date at a local seafood eatery on April 1.

She eagerly anticipated the date, expressing her excitement to a neighbor, the complaint revealed. Clad in ripped jeans and a white shirt, she texted Anderson indicating her craving for seafood before heading to the rendezvous spot, a former workplace of Anderson's.

Her absence from work the following day raised alarms among colleagues. “We knew something was wrong; she never missed work,” remarked Justin Romano, Robinson’s workplace manager.

The morning after their date, Robinson’s charred vehicle was discovered, its interior completely ravaged by fire, the complaint disclosed. Despite the destruction, authorities managed to identify remnants of her attire and part of a phone consistent with hers.

Later that day, a gruesome find emerged: a human leg on the beach at Warnimont Park, described as “sawn off” at the hip. Preliminary DNA analysis confirmed it belonged to Robinson, a young Black woman measuring around 5 feet tall.

As investigators scoured the vicinity of Robinson’s burned car, they stumbled upon more remains, including a foot and what appeared to be flesh, all presumably from the same person, the complaint stated.

Evidence gleaned from phone records traced Robinson’s movements on the night of April 1, leading from the restaurant to a nearby sports bar, then to Anderson’s residence, and finally to the park where the remains were found.

Surveillance footage, witness testimonies, and additional phone records implicated Anderson in the crimes. Authorities also discovered blood and several gasoline containers at his residence.

Based on the evidence outlined in the complaint, authorities concluded that Anderson intentionally murdered and dismembered Robinson with the aim of concealing the homicide, occurring between his return home and departure from the Warnimont Park vicinity.

A verified GoFundMe page has been established to support Robinson’s memorial service, portraying her as a beloved daughter, sister, and friend.

Originally from Mississippi, Robinson was on the brink of graduating from Milwaukee Area Technical College with aspirations of pursuing a career in criminal justice, according to the fundraiser.

“The loss of Sade has left a profound void in the hearts of her family, particularly her grieving mother and younger sister, along with countless relatives, friends, and the broader community who cherished and supported her,” the page reads. “As we unite to honor Sade’s memory, our aim is to bid her a dignified farewell.”
